Hufnagel Cycles Skewers - Pre Order

$180.00

I first made these skewers as a fun project in 2011, kitting out a porteur bike for myself  and making many of the components. It was a blast prototyping and making each part, and I went on a bit of a tangent that year (shifters, brake levers, chain guides, lights).

My love for the mid-century french constructeur shines in these skewers, as I took inspiration from the wing-nut axles of that time. My thought here was to make something with a little bit of theft deterrent mixed with the style I’m drawn to and have developed.

Recently I found myself building up an old frame I made a good while back, and I wanted some of these skewers for it. I thought maybe y’all might like a set also.

So I’m putting them up here for pre-order. It’s been fun to revisit these components again, looking forward to seeing them on your bikes.

The skewers are machined from stainless steel and the washers are machined from brass.

You will need a 6mm allen key to loosen/tighten them.

These will work for most traditional frame and forks. 100mm spacing up front and 130/135mm spacing in the back.

Depending on drop out thickness and rear end width, you may need to trim the skewer length.

I will make a limited number of sets available for the pre-order.

If you’d like to keep up with any future projects like this, please sign up for the Hufnagel Cycles mailing list HERE. You can also sign up for a separate list that will get you news and updates on my art driven practice.

This run of skewers will ship by May 9th, 2025.
